On-device ground school

Privacy

Heading Chain Rose is an offline education workbench. The brass compass rose, heading chain, deviation card, variation library, drills, presets, and study-card export are designed to run entirely on your iPhone or iPad.

Heading Chain Rose does not collect personal data. There is no account system, no tracking profile, and no analytics pipeline inside the app.

What stays on your device

True, variation, magnetic, deviation, and compass values you dial on the rose
Eight-point deviation card entries and named calculation presets
Drill progress cues and dual-compare boards you arrange locally
Study-card images you choose to create and share through the system share sheet

Local storage uses on-device frameworks only (including SwiftData for named setups). Nothing is sent to Heading Chain Rose servers because the product does not operate a cloud backend for this app.

What we do not do

No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
No account, sign-in, or identity graph
No network requirement for core study tools
No sale of personal information

Share sheet & mail

If you export a paper-style study card or contact support, iOS system interfaces handle sharing and email. Those actions are initiated by you; the app does not quietly transmit study content in the background.

Educational notice

Heading Chain Rose is educational reference only and is not intended for in-flight navigation. Privacy practices described here match the offline workbench design: on-device calculation and study materials without remote data collection.
